Government could solve it, though. Right now, government at every level is trying to preserve the cities from their deserved ruin. Instead, the government could help depopulate the cities. Move people out of there and into new small communities.

You could take all the BLM land now being squatted on by welfare queens like the Bundy's, irrigate it, parcel it out, and create small communities of homesteads, for instance.

Where I live, quite a lot of small farmers are popping up out of nowhere. Young people too. They just get together in small groups, lease the land, and then get to work on cash crops like sweet potatoes. There exists an alternative economy budding out there, fairly well separated from the corporate, AIDS-infested economy that dominates the cities.

Homestead Act the cities out of existence.

Divest the state of any claim to any real property outside of what is necessary for providing true public goods.

We don't need the government to do this:

We need the government to GTFO to do this.

Turn this shit on it's head.

Threaten to take all the beach front property and give it all to the natives who got priced out of the market when the white man came.

You could probably get a beach front reservation out of it with casinos and jet skis.

The government owns the land, currently. They have to do something if we are going to let people develop it. Right now, it's just locked down by batshit environmentalists and squatters like the Bundy's.

Seattle might also try raising revenue with coffee and anal bead taxes.

It really is astounding to me how new Seattle is and how spectacularly it has failed at civic planning.

The infrastructure is a joke.
There is no transit worth a darn.
Housing is intolerable.

And yet... this is the priority.

The project is estimated to cost US$4.25 billion,
As of March 2018, Seattle Tunnel Partners are targeting an August 2018 completion of work, with the tunnel possibly opening in October 2018; the cost overrun estimate now stands at $600 million.
$4.825 Billion to take an existing road and move it underground to make the waterfront prettier.

Two miles? Lol... that's over $400,000 / foot.
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

Yeah ... the homeless taxation is just one straw In the moon-sized bale atop the camel’s back. Soda tax. Bike lane taxes. Viaduct tunnel boondoggle. ST3 tax. The list goes on and on.

You really need to live here to keep up with the breakneck speed of bad decisions and endless deluge of new taxes to fund them.

Well it is 100ft x 2 miles... that will now be open that was previously a big parking lot.

Perhaps they can turn that into cheap high density housing.

Think of all the jobs it created though... tunnel workers, planning commissions, and a host of other beaurocratic money wasters. Over budget? We need to fund a "study" to determine why. Behind schedule? There's another "study" to be funded. We've got some friends that know absolutely nothing about tunnel construction and have never balanced a budget in their lives, probably can't even balance their checkbook, they get prime positions on those "studies" and "commissions"...

...and somehow they wind up behind schedule even more, for even higher cost, and "it just happens".
