As I’ve been alluding, and Fife has been plainly stating, the vast majority of this crisis is government inflicted. For years we’ve watched so-called government solutions merely exacerbate the issue at tremendous cost to the taxpayer.

... and what are progressives offering today? MORE government “fixes”.

How many years must an approach fail before its proponents accept that their approach is failure? In Seattle the answer is “obviously more than ten years”.
So the tech boom was good and an example of the free market and the voters were greedy malcontents because they didn't want to be homeless.

........Until you found out the government did it.

Now the tech boom is bad and a further example of why the government shouldn't interfere in the free market, such as in the tax that you claimed before would undo the (now government caused and therefore bad) tech boom.

I think I'm starting to understand how DBtrek processes information:

Trek: "Did the government do it?"
"No."
Trek: "Good."

Trek: "Did the government do it?"
"Yes."
Trek: "Bad."

I gotta hand it to DBtrek, he knows where the reply button is, and he uses it. Whether he actually addressed a single argument, ever, is a question more suited to a self-hating archivalist/philosopher, but in terms of knowing how to fill a thread with as much of himself as possible, one has to stand in awe.

It's easy for the observer to become confused and assume that there must be multiple posters with that name and avatar, because nobody could have that much free time.

But he does. More impressive is the way he keeps the quality of the posts consistently inverse in proportion to their frequency.

Nah, I don't drunk-post, a regretful post is worse than a hangover, I stay clean and sober, a sharpened blade restless in its sheath.

Affordable housing is a bad idea. It never works. I have some standing having been brought up in an attempt at social democratic utopia. I even lived in one of our Million Programmes for a couple of years. It was new when we moved in and run down two years later when we moved out. Concentrating all the misery in one place just reinforces the problems.

Well, I think the forum would be interested to hear about your experiences.

I dated someone that had lived in affordable housing, they didn't have anything negative to say about it, they were just disappointed that they couldn't stay after they started earning too much. But maybe that person wasn't representative.
