Re: Venezuela news
Point being tho, this is not just a bunch misguided "democratic socialists", it's a full on communist military dictatorship, and because it is being run as a proxy for Havana, it's not giving up its Venezuelan oil fields without a fight, hence why there is no peaceful transfer of power and things have gone all the way to old school Bolshevik nasty.

Meh, sounds a little tin-foil-hattish.
Call me skeptical over claims that third-rate $87B GDP Cuba is puppeteering $260B GDP Venezuela.

Re: Venezuela news
Well that's the beauty of the Chavezistas for the Cubans, they provided a centralized authority which was ripe for the Cubans to insinuate themselves into, and as they did, they insinuated themselves into the Venezuelan military and security forces over time, so they don't need to use Cuban troops, they've got proxies to do the heavy lifting for them, all they have to do is prop up this centralized authority and its military and security arm, and they are essentially able to sieze a strategic oil reserve which literally rivals the Soviet Union's, all asymmertically and largely covert.
The Russians are involved too, not so much ideologically, but they want Venezuela as a client, base of operations, military customer, the Cubans are in desperate need of Venezualan oil money, but the Russians are eager to sell to them as well.
Wasn't too long ago, that the Venezuelan military and security forces were being armed, trained and indocrinated by US forces, now they're being armed, trained and indoctrinated by the Cubans and Russians.
The US trained and indoctrinated Venezuelans are still there, but they are this point on the threshold of becoming insurgents against the regime, although only nascently so far.

Venezuelans scramble to survive as merchants demand dollars
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-vene ... SKBN1EK0XK“There’s no point keeping bolivars.”
For a decade and a half, strict exchange controls have severely limited access to dollars. A black market in hard currency has spread in response, and as once-sky-high oil revenue runs dry, Venezuela’s economy is in free-fall.
The practice adopted by gourmet and design stores in Caracas over the last couple of years to charge in dollars to a select group of expatriates or Venezuelans with access to greenbacks is fast spreading.
Food sellers, dental and medical clinics, and others are starting to charge in dollars or their black market equivalent - putting many basic goods and services out of reach for a large number of Venezuelans.

You’d be wrong. They flee because they’re hurting. They’re not fleeing because they see anything wrong with socialism. If they were to come here, they’d be in line for gibs like the others, sadly.Zlaxer wrote:Can we import them here? Seriously - Me thinks they wouldn't be too friendly towards the DNC/collectivists

Why don't they just legislate in a "liveable wage" and "Gender Neutral pay".....
Wow...what a fucking mess.....President Nicolás Maduro late Thursday briefly outlined his monetary rescue plan. In a country where a dozen eggs can cost 250,000 bolivars ($5) amid worsening inflation, he would chop three zeros off the currency — arguably bringing the price for those eggs down to 250.

LMAO "My money is now worth 1000x more. This will change everything, you're welcome."
They're going full Mad Max down there, wow.
EDIT: I laugh at the idiocy of the government. I know that people are dying/will die from this.
