The MSM and the intelligence community are interlaced and connected. Intelligence has influenced and essentially controlled media for many decades now.

Look at how the fake news was cooked for CNN via Fusion, which had connections to both CNN and the CIA and other intelligence agencies. It's all really just one cottage industry with people going back and forth between the various entities.
