I haven't been listening to McClanahan all that long, and I bought the Hamilton book but haven't been able to read it yet; so I'm no expert on his opinions yet. But I would hazard a guess that he if more of a fan of George Mason, Thomas Jefferson, Sam Adams, Luther Martin, &c, than of Hamilton, John Marshall, &c.GloryofGreece wrote:Sorry I don't automatically know your thought pattern. With a little cursory research I found out that the podcast you linked is an author that likes to write about how people screwed up America. The 30 minute podcast episode was interesting though. Thought provoking. I'm guessing he wanted the Confederation to stay over a Federalist form of government?

I'm digging his thoughts on his podcast. I listened to one on Trump from a year ago and now listening to "Should we be fearful". But the one you linked was cool...id like to hear him more on historical topics than straight modern politics.Fife wrote:I haven't been listening to McClanahan all that long, and I bought the Hamilton book but haven't been able to read it yet; so I'm no expert on his opinions yet. He was no Edward I or Edward III but at least he wasn't an Edward II or an Edward VIII.heydaralon wrote:King George III wasn't so bad either.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I have a book on the Tudors and Henry VIII that I've been wanting to read for awhile. How is Henry viewed in England today? Favorably or critically?Montegriffo wrote:He was no Edward I or Edward III but at least he wasn't an Edward II or an Edward VIII.heydaralon wrote:King George III wasn't so bad either.

Not so popular with the Catholics but wedding planners speak very highly of him.
