I am starting to see this is a good thing. Even the Marxists are realizing federation is a bad idea. They are getting behind states rights now.
It's better to do this stuff at the state level anyway.
Net neutrality enjoys overwhelming support of the American people, including most republican voters. State legislatures are going to enact it in most states. Hopefully Texas will be a hold out, and I can enjoy the occasional post of you lamenting how your connection keeps dropping off.
It doesn't even fucking matter who is doing and why. This move to decentralized the government is a good thing just on the face of it. If the democrats want to neuter the federal government by taking the tenth amendment seriously again, then I support that.
The beast has to die. If it takes net neutrality and marijuana laws to do that, then so be it. The bigger picture here is that the federal government becomes less relevant to our lives.
It's actually a thing of beauty. The reason why the preemption will fail is that the republican neocons and their ISP donors took the FCC to court under the Obama administration to uphold their state laws that criminalized broadband competition with respect to muncipal broadband.
The very reason why we don't have any competition to these companies in most markets is going to be the ruling that ensures states will in fact pass their own net neutrality laws.
