Holy shit, that's hard core...
It is. Had a friend who had a weird job. Got to go clean up things like suicides. He said one of the strangest was a guy devised a swing apparatus to swing him into his band saw and cut him in half.

Holy FUCK!
We'd get together and drink from time to time and he'd tell me stories about how people offed themselves. Another crazy one was a guys who cooked himself on a water bed. He took a bunch of sleeping pills, heated is water bed up as hot as he could get it, layed down, covered himself with an electric blanket and a space blanket. Didn't find him for a week. He was well done, like pulling a leg off a turkey. Said it smelled like smoked turkey too.
It's sad that he beat his wife with a hatchet handle and traumatized the family like that, but he did kind of solve the problem for everybody. Think of all the resources that would have been used to keep track of this guy for however many years left he had. I am not trying to be callous here, I really do feel bad for this family, but I am really tired of abusers at this point. It kind of reads like he wanted to harm himself with the chainsaw for attention but it ended up killing him too. For how many years was this woman beaten like that? I find it difficult to believe an otherwise normal husband takes to beating his wife with a hatchet handle at age 70 out of the blue.
