I think I will celebrate by listening to the folks that Stalin patronized while simultaneously utterly crushing their spirit. All day long.

The brass around the 4 1/2 minute mark is choice.

Get that spirit crushed Dmitri, get it!
HAIL!

The Russians make the best music about defeating their enemies.

Skip to 4:00. That's the coolest homage to the Teutonic Knights of all time, written by Russians.

The Bolshevik Century
100 years ago today, November 7th, the Bolskeviks seized power in Russia and ushered in a century of terror, murder and economic/environmental mismanagement that killed more people than any other ideology or religion ever in the history of humanity. Not only did they kill more people in absolute terms, but the Communist regimes inspired and supported by the Soviet Union get to claim top spots in the “relative death” chart.

It is worth reminding people of these facts when others try to whitewash the bloody red past.

For perspective, just about every single victim of Communism would have been dead from age related natural causes at this point anyway if they had not been killed by Communists. Revisionists like Fife like to ignore this fact, but people eventually all die of something. Not sure why Mao gets a bad rap, when ladders also kill people as does pneumonia. Food for thought.

Looks like the closest Russian government came to commemorating the centenary of the revolution: An event marking the always more popular commemoration of WW2 fighting that is tangentially related to the revolution. Wouldn't want to glorify people rising up against the government. ;)
