It would be awesome. Democrats would not win another presidential election. They only win because they maintain a majority in the large cities, effectively disenfranchising the sizable minority of Republican voters there. Democracy is, by definition, the tyranny of the majority. Adding in some half-assed geographical layer to it only confuses the issue.

Small wonder no one wanted democracy, if the only stories of democracy was the Athenian one.
