Just noticing that sex robots come up all the time. Seems odd.

Most likely, they keep metrics on what stories generate the most views. They cluster those stories into a few themes and then, when they are determining what to put up there, they try to seed the page with stories from the categories that generate the most ad revenue for them. Probably a lot of the stuff they are more interested in putting out there generates far less views and shares, so less ad revenue.
