Forget that Hillary Clinton lost on counties overall, and states only went to her because the larger voting numbers are inside specific counties... the reason she wants to get rid of it is that she knows she would have won without it.

There could be no bigger swipe at state rights in today's world. The system is working as it was designed by not letting the masses in urban areas decide what is best for the dispersed folks in the rural area.

You want diversity but fail to realize that you already have it where you live so to be truly diverse there needs to be some non-diverse cultures too.

I would agree to remove the electoral college as we have it now, if and only if we do the popular vote via county instead of by each state. So each county gets a win to a candidate. So a true popular vote will be given instead because counties will all be treated the same, and fairly, one county, one "vote" So that would be roughly 3,050 "votes" to count. Each county would win by popularity.
This would kill two birds with one stone.
You'd have a true popular vote count, and those counties that have a larger population would be equal to all others. The winner would win the country by a true percentage instead of by dictating by only a handful of cities/counties to dictate who all the votes go to for said state instead.
