I'm glad that HM is just willing to drop the mask completely. He's doing the "I'ma just be snide and not try and refute your sources." shtick because he truly has nothing of worth to contribute.
Wildly increased technological advances in a short time have nothing to do with a person's mental health, you say? Yeah. Sure.
No one is trying to take away your Funko Pops, dude. Chill out.

I read your sources.
If you think industrial society is so terrible, go to Portland, join the Black Block, and start fucking up some systems.
At least they have the courage of their convictions, as stupid, misguided, and irrational as those convictions are.

You're an idiot if you think BLM and Antifa are enemies of the current system. Name one thing they believe that isn't parroted by every Human Resources department in this country. They don't want to tear the current system down. They want everyone who values personal liberty dead. They want them all dead and their own degeneracy lauded as true and good.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:28 amI read your sources.

You're an idiot if you think destroying industry, capital, and technology is going to improve people's lives by curing their depression.

Who in this thread has lobbied for that? You're strawmanning like hell.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:33 amYou're an idiot if you think destroying industry, capital, and technology is going to improve people's lives by curing their depression.
"YOU QUOTED THE UNABOMBER YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING HE SAID, REEEEEEEEE"
Your contention is that the industrial revolution and the prodigious advancements in technology over a relatively short period of time has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with a decrease in general happiness and an increase in mental illness. I just don't see how you can make those leaps.

The industrial society is on its face a royal fuckup. We escalated our ability without realizing what we would sacrifice in the process of doing so. We destroyed the social and economic structure of the family, and in doing so we have also destroyed in many cases the lower and low-mid income families by forcing people to work to not only "keep up with the joneses" but also to keep just above the ever-increasing waterline of debt that our income can barely cover.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:28 amI read your sources.

When in 1990 to now inflation has increased at a rate of almost 100% (actually 97.24%)
That means for every dollar back in 1990 it will cost 1.97 to buy the same thing today.
With incomes pretty much staying stagnant, the average income back in the '90s gave the people about 7.5K a month for the middle class (take home). That would be about 230K today... but guess what, today the upper-middle-class makes about the same (120 to 170k *if you are lucky) if two family members are working full time at good-paying jobs.
The income, the inflation, the more work, get paid less, and everything else to go along with it has disenfranchised almost everyone who works for people.... why do you think the Industrial Society isn't screwed up?

Who's praising? No one called him a hero.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 8:16 amYou guys realize you are praising a failed scientist who crippled real scientists with all your "the left are losers that hate science" nonsense?
Someone who was unemployable and jobless, but managed to murder a small business owner.
Real hero.

He's confusing actual criticism of the system with fake criticism of the system by people who are supported by the system. He doesn't understand nuance, clearly. The Conservative wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:48 amThe industrial society is on its face a royal fuckup.
