Dan Carlin Fallacy.
Yes, the entire R part of Congress is 100% lily white, pure as fresh snow, never, ever would consider doing something corrupt.

Uh huh.

You are being intellectually lazy.

All you want to do is sit there and put on the facade that you are somehow above everything else. It's like intellectual masturbation. But, in reality, the only way to actually fix a God damned thing is to win political power. In this system, there are only two viable political parties to do that. Literally any solution you can conceive of implies controlling the government which in turn implies taking control of one of the parties.

However even a majority of politicians in that party behave is irrelevant to this simple fact. To sit there and pretend like you are above it all is to lose, and to lose lazily and pathetically.
Meh - it doesn't matter which party has complete power. It happens, and when it does, corruption doesn't get fixed, nor do any of the real issues that this country faces get fixed. I don't care about cakes or bathrooms or even health care.

My concerns are all about spending, spying, accountability, size of government, etc. Neither party has any interest in reigning any of that in. There's only one group of people who even pretend to care about reigning in spending, and that is the R team when they are out of power. Once in power, they spend like drunken sailors.

I pretend nothing. I have my beliefs. It doesn't make me better or worse. We just have different opinions on this. Geez....

So your plan is to sit there on your ass and declare how stupid everybody is for trying to change anything.

Again: Dan Carlin Fallacy.

There is no solution inherent in your position. You just want to sit there and pretend like you are above everybody else, when in fact, you are not. It's posturing and intellectually weak.

You don't get to opt out. It's a democracy. If you decide to take your toys and go home, the degenerates are going to take your home.

Ask yourself what fuck all good complaining about the spying on the Internet is going to do. What does that change? What change are you ever going to see while declaring all the parties offlimits to your precious vote? Nothing. That's what.

Dan Carlin Fallacy. It's a waste of time, sister. You are behind the curve.

The idea that the only option is to fight for control of the institution is false.

You absolutely have the power to weaken the institution as a whole, or support alternative institutions.

The Catholic Church and my local farmer's market both exist independent of the Federal Government.

There exists no viable path to "weakening the institution of the federal government" without taking control of it first.

"Supporting alternative solutions" is virtue signaling.

Dan Carlin Fallacy is a huge waste of your time. It's time to put this thing to rest. It's been ten years, guys. I mean.. come on. LOL

I mean.. I have no problem talking about the ideal form of government in every one's minds. I like that discussion. But that doesn't mean I am going to vote for the Heinlein Party if some bozo creates it and manages to get enough signatures for a candidate on my ballot.

LOL

You have to be realistic. Take control of one party. Use that party to take control of the government. THEN you don't have to sit there on the Internet talking about the way things really should be in a perfect world. You can actually try to wage a political war to make those things happen in real life.

We all agree on ending the spy state. Counter-signalling the attempted takeover of the GOP to that end because a lot of neocons are fucking stupid is, well, fucking stupid too. There are no alternatives to ending it. One party or the other has to take control and people who want to end it have to be in control of that party. That's it. That's how this works. Hello. This shouldn't need explanation.

No.

I actually do vote. I choose anyone who isn't the incumbent. I prefer third party, but if none available, the non incumbent gets my vote. If running unopposed, I don't vote at all.

I actually did vote for Gillum for governor. The reason is that according to the republican ads, he was on the run from the FBI. Well, anyone who can actively run for governor while hiding from the FBI is ridiculously smart, so should get to lead.

I voted against Nelson, because he's the incumbent. I loathe Scott, he's a cheat, liar, fraud and corrupt to the core. He's better than any incumbent, though.

So, help me pick a party.

I want
-to be free of government spying
-my 4th amendment rights restored
-freedom to do whatever I want, as long as there are no victim of my actions.
-less government.
-something resembling a balanced budget.
-out of perpetual war
-corruption out of politics
-Congress held to the same laws that the proles follow
-destruction of the NSA
-destruction of the TSA
-to audit the Fed
-destruction of the Patriot Act
-laws that are named what they are
-laws that are limited in scope/no pork
-laws we can read before they are passed, without a bunch of (fill in the blanks)
-limit the size of laws to something an average citizen can read
-destruction of FISA courts
-elimination of civil forfeiture
-end to the war on drugs
-end to government overreach
-sunset dates are manditory on all laws
-for each new law passed, one has to go

I like to call it Libertarian-Light. I'm not on board with a lot of their agenda, but they agree with me on my issues.

No such party has ever existed. You want a utopia, it's a pipe dream. Stop believing that some white horse is going to gallop in and have all your issues at heart. Just go NPA and vote on the person and the positions they hold, not the party.
