Well, first of all, the 12ga pump action shotgun is actually a rather challenging weapon to master, but you're not even going to train with it, so you'll have no muscle memory under duress, which, being a panic monkey as you are, I would say the adrenal dump will prolly be debilitating you.

And then you're going to wait to chamber a round, until you are actually in contact, because you're bluffing, at which point the other guy, who is probably going to be a real American, and as such, will know what the deal is when he hears that slide action, will turn and shoot you before you can get your shot off.

To wit, someone who doesn't chamber a round until they are at the drop, is an easy mark, and so not actually intimidating at all.
