Re: Europe, Boring Until it's Not
I like the idea of carbon footprint labeling. I'm sick and tired of having to explain to people why buying imported beef from Uruguay is better than buying Swedish if you want to be environmentally responsible.
Beef in Uruguay graze the grasslands all year. Swedish beef is kept indoors half the year in heated barns and are fed grain that is fertilized and transported with fozil fuel. The freezing of South American beef and transport by ship uses a lot less fuel per kilo beef.

To the surprise of no one... I don't trust the government to do "carbon footprint labeling" in a manner that doesn't simply act as a barrier to competitors and entrepreneurs in general.

I wouldn't worry about it. In a few months when your country's Marxist Green Govt policies lead to mass starvation debating over beef will be as hypothetical as debating whether Flash Gordon could beat Han Solo in a fistfight. By then all the pets will be gone, and tree bark and blades of grass will be how Swedes sustain themselves.

That carbon footprint shit is a bad farce. I remember in my high school environmental "science" class they were pushing that shit hard too. True fucking story, my AP Environmental science teacher lost her job and went to work at fucking Wal Mart. Lol imagine lecturing children about waste, consumerism, excessive plastic, destruction of forests, emissions, and then going to work for that place.
I wonder if she appreciated the irony...

In the present, people will fight for their right to stay uninformed, imagine that.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Sadly you're confusing "informed" with "indoctrinated".Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 1:34 pmIn the present, people will fight for their right to stay uninformed, imagine that.
We reserve the right to remain non-indoctrinated.
You can tell it's indoctrination, not information, because of the left's aggressive push to stifle all dissent and deplatform any opposing views.
Information doesn't rely on tyranny to survive.
Only bad ideas require the aggressive policing of competitors.

Hmm, so the ability to argue one's position ''aggressively'' indicates that one's position is indoctrination?DBTrek wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 1:36 pmSadly you're confusing "informed" with "indoctrinated".Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 1:34 pmIn the present, people will fight for their right to stay uninformed, imagine that.

BINGO
Regulations always favor the people currently in power, be it government or business. Simply because the people in power are writing the regulations and they are not going to harm themselves when they do it.
