I'm serious when I say I was a mercenary.

Politically agnostic servant of the Queen for the purposes of doing state sanctioned mass murder on behalf of the British Crown.

What special insight does that give me?
It’s not about insight, it’s about utility.

Which is a better person - a know-nothing Internet complainer, or a know-nothing Internet complainer that will put their ass on the line for life and death stakes.

Neither has more insight, one clearly has more utility.
Lt. Commander Crenshaw ceased to be of that utility, when he turned his kit in, same as me.

Now he's just a politician.

Which is fine, like I say, more power to him.

But I'm not intimidated by his Trident, nor does it give him any special political cache with me.

In fact, I am wary of veteran politicians, as I've said, the military is rife with cucks.

Frankly, I don't recall serving with anyone whom I would describe as being a limited government conservative.

Pretty much everybody in the military was either a big government nanny state prohibitionist.

Or a big government nanny state interventionist.

Or both.

Most the guys I served with were 24 y/o or younger, and apolitical.

It wasn’t until I worked at the FAA that I met all the retired government-owes-me-everything vets.
But man, there were a lot of them.

Most of the people I served with were apolitical except for hating democrats.

Shit has changed, though. On various social media communities I encounter trannies and shit. It's very liberal. If you told people on the avionics truck back in the 90s that within twenty years there would be a tranny c shopper, they'd laugh you off the truck. I mean.. if it was going to happen to anybody, it was definitely going to happen to c shop first, but still.

But even then, the troops have an ideology of big government by default.

What are they always complaining about?

The government doesn't do this, the government doesn't do that, the government should be doing both this and that and they should be spending way more money on it, starting by giving way more to the military.

Giving teat-suckers the vote is a big mistake.

I endeavor to remain politically agnostic about the military.

If someone asks me my views, I try to give them a breakdown of how it all works, in a technical sense.

Whether they want to spend tax dollars on that is up to them.

I do however tell them that I think it has became a vast sinkhole of pointless make work, but that's just one man's opinion.

I also reject the notion that the military was hard times and people should pity the troops.

It was honestly non stop fun and adventure, and we were well paid, fed, and housed therein.
