I fear only failing in my primary mission. Provide, Protect, and Teach.
you would fail in the protect mission without extensive preparation

you're not a female, you're not going to go over the top for your children, no matter how much you love them

it's not a conscious choice, in the event of contact, it is all instinct

you don't have the female instinct to kill & die for your offspring, male psychology doesn't work like that

a father does not kill & die for the female hierarchy, the deep motivation for that is not there
Not sure where you’re getting that from, but I suggest asking any father what he wouldn’t do for his kids. Females will certainly dive in front of a bullet at the last moment, but Fathers would walk through a dozen shots to kill an aggressor.

Fuck around and find out.
father's who are conditioned for battle will kill & die for random kids in danger everywhere

males who have not been conditioned for male close combat will fold no matter what the situation

being a warrior is not about thinking you are so tough that it comes naturally to you

being a warrior is about recognizing that you will fold if you don't engage in extensive preparation beforehand

every warrior fears that he might fold in the face of it, you don't actually know until your boots hit the ground

any man claiming he is sure that he is a natural warrior without preparation; is obviously talking shit

The State is the ultimate post-modern religion. Strong as any other, and responsible for just as many inquisitions/pogroms. Crack a book on the Soviets, and get back to me.
Read several books on Soviets.
Crack a book called a dictionary and get back to me.
Pedantry.
You keep offering up reasons for why you need to read a dictionary, and I keep suggesting you do it.
Where is this all heading tho?
You going to learn what words mean or no?

Red Badge of Courage, dude.
Even the conditioned occasionally panic under fire, flee like cowards.
Bullets hitting inches away have that effect. Best you can do is train, train, train, and hope the panic doesn't set in when the SHTF.

.... but yeah, living a soft life for decades and just assuming you're going to spring into action in a life and death situation is a recipe for failure.

exactly

it's all about muscle memory, the training takes over

without that structure though, men will fold in close combat

you don't walk onto the parade square on day one as a natural warfighter

I am not even a hard man, I'm a lover not a fighter

I just have the conditioning ingrained to take over upon contact

It's like never having been in a fight in your life, but figuring that if you ever go into the MMA cage match against Connor McGregor your instincts will guide you.

They'll guide you to an early grave, homie.

I shouldn't laugh, because it's a dangerous assumption

even worse when the guy is relying on the mothers female instinct as the last moment

first of all, he doesn't have it, it's not going to be there

second of all, the male wins that battle against the female every single time

she doesn't win, she just sings her death song and goes down swinging

a male cannot afford to rely on that female strategy, a male is called to prevail, fight to win

in terms of an American family, frontier homestead

it is a combat team

yes, the mother is the last line of defense, take the children, get to safety

the men cannot afford to let it come to the forlorn hope, the men have to aggressively prosecute the action

you cannot cower in the bottom of your trench relying on a mothers instincts to save the family

in terms of deep motivation, it is a dick measuring contest

what did you make those babies with ?

the stork didn't bring them

you ascended to the top of the male dominance hierarchy

the mother will go down swinging for the children, but that is not your motivation

you defend the mother, she defends the children

you defend your mating female, she takes care of the rear area

so you can't let it come to the point where you are the de facto mother in the rear

you have to engage much earlier in the process, and that requires extensive preparation beforehand

you go in the office, it's women's world, girls and girly men, everybody pecking like hens

I've been thinking lately that we've got the division of labor all backwards in the information age. It seems women are better suited for the office and professional environments, and men are better suited to the physical labor of securing, improving, and managing the homestead.

Besides, it seems like what everybody wants, right? Women keep saying they want the corner office, and men keep saying they want to be at home making shit in the garage, landscaping, or fixing the rain gutters.
I just couldn't work in an office, I couldn't fit into beta woman's world

my wife is a corporate whizkid, she thrives in effeminate corporate world

so I just took the money and ran, classic Gen X Slacker

I served a long stretch in the trenches for the free world, I've earned my retirement
I work in IT, and I am only still in it now because I am remote, and I insist on staying remote. I refuse to work inside an office anymore unless the pay is enough to tolerate 2 hours of daily travel and the irritation of dealing with people who I wouldn't interact with on a daily basis.

It's also the reason I am writing a book series, is so that if I make enough money off of it, I can retire and get the fuck out of the rat race. Perhaps get back into fighting shape again and work on things I've wanted to for a long time.

I don't worry about you, TC

maybe it's your autism, but you have the alpha male instincts

you have high disagreeability, high conscientiousness

you say you are small, but it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog

autism is a double edged sword, but the usefull edge it that it makes you relentless, you won't back down
