Skipped to a random spots throughout that dumpster fire of a speech. Every single time she was slandering Sessions. No wonder they censored her. Sessions should sue her as well.

LMFAO

Slandering somebody on the Senate floor is not "expressing your point of view".

You guys still have no idea why you are losing..

In any case, when we have reached the point where the democrats are reaching back to the Civil Rights Era and bemoaning the actions of segregationists and KKK terrorists.. the democrats really jumped the shark here. I mean.. That's them! They did that stuff! Am I on fucking crazy pills here? Is ISIS next? Will we see ISIS leaders blame republicans for all the terrorism and slave markets in Syria?

Senators aren't allowed to slander other senators? That's weak, what a lame rule. I'm sure there is some context I'm missing, but being censored for talking shit to another senator isn't MAGA

I thought senators could talk for as long as they liked until a vote of cloture, is that what happened?

She should've been censured outright for attempting to introduce a thirty year old letter written by the desiccated widow of someone famous for having the mostly frequently drug-trafficked streets in America named after him. "If you can't find it there, try Malcolm X BLVD."

Nah, there's rules. Senators are supposed to be the top tier. That's why they weren't popularly elected at first. They were supposed to be the example to follow, not like those Representatives who pander to the masses, and act like them. Rather than changing the rules so they can act like children, we should go the other way and abolish the 17th.

I couldn't find a video for it last time I looked, but Cheney took a lot of bad press for cussing out a Senator in the Senate way back when. He got off on a technicality that rules for Senators don't apply to the VP because he's not a Senator.

I had a talk with my boss today about voter qualifications. He's really into calling anything he wants to be common a right. Right to healthcare, for example. He mentioned the facebook ads for online voting while we were talking about fake news. I had to let him know that Trump didn't start the fake news meme. He didn't know the MSM started it, and had it turned on them. I said the online voting thing, and other such shit, were evidence of why we should have voter qualifications. He said he thinks voting is a right that everyone has, I disagreed, but didn't have time to get into it. Cal 2 students came in and wrecked my day.

Voting in a democratic republic is part of an agreement between citizens. It entails consequences that affect all involved. It's a contract between citizens that can be shaped however those citizens see fit. Saying you have a right to vote to affect your neighbor's life, whether he wants you to affect his life or not, is no different than saying you have a right to buy any of your neighbor's property, whether he wants to sell or not. It's bullshit.

The only reason that Senators can't 'slander' each other is because of a Senate rule.

However, somehow, nobody thought that this would make it impossible to debate a Senator's confirmation for a cabinet post.

Sure, yeah I suppose we should expect a certain amount of decorum from the higher house of Congress, I can appreciate that. I still think it's lame though, I want blood, censorship is for snowflakes. Maybe we need a lesser amount of decorum from the House, that would be fine with me. Those videos of parliament yelling at each other are where it's at. Exciting shit, my kind of TV!

Yeah, but it's more than that. They can't 'speak disparagingly' of another senator. That's impossible to debate their worthiness for a post then.
