I didn’t have you picked out as an advocate for Big State Certification.. also, not sure what kind of “achievement” it is to opt into 4 years of irrelevant, expensive schooling vs 2, but regardless....

Consider a kid that went to extra school vs working in The IT field for 2 years. Who’s more valuable to your company?

Techs have a different answer from corporates. Which one do you believe?
I also shouldn't be surprised that the AS-degree folks think certs are awarded by "Big State".

So in summation:
1) Our "self-taught" geniuses were actually taught by community colleges, not themselves - but they're still ok pissing on everyone elses educations.
2) They don't know that most IT certifications are industry-based, not government based.
3) They know the value of having credentials that pass through HR filters, but can't connect this knowledge in any meaningful way with the certifications that provide those credentials.

I think it is a Yankee thing to be in love with state-awarded credentials. If you think about how the Puritan colony was run, it makes sense.

Sadly, the average time spent pursuing a degree is 6 years. In many cases, much longer.

I’m making six figures on an Associates and over 30 years of IT experience.
Bank details or it never happened...
Umm, even my bank doesn’t hold records that long, what are you smoking and where can I get some?

You currently make six figures, and your bank doesn't hold those records? Where do you do your banking?

Panama?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Look at when the certifications come from, Microsoft, Cisco, google, you name it it’s out there. Who makes money off of those certifications? It’s not the people taking the certifications I could tell you that, yes it might increase your pay by a few thousand dollars but in reality you are wasting your time getting the certifications to prove he could do a job you’ve already been doing for how long?

Certifications are like Karen Sherance you Gotta have it, you got to pay for it.

Certifications only show that you could pass a test, that’s it it’s a simple as that. I would rather have somebody who has 20 years in the IT world or five years programming; then have to worry about if somebody somewhere has a certification.

I had my A+, MCSC, as well as many other certifications know what good they did me?

Squat.

My pay went from $50,000, to $75,000 all because the H1B visa people were dropping the rate of what I should’ve gotten.

Too many certifications are nothing but prove he can be coaching team, you can say whatever you want but anybody who looks for certifications is not looking for people who are qualified all day looking for is a piece of paper, and personally a piece of paper is worth shit comparison to experience.

The danger of banks keeping records.

Recordless banking is best.
Can't overdraw your account when there's no record of your account.

You had to be more clear about what was being requested, the 30 years of experience or my bank account which I am not going to show anybody on this form. If I wanted people to know my private life more than they already know more power to you.
