Judge in Manafort case won't unseal juror names, saying he's received threats

The judge in the trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort denied a motion from media organizations to make public the names of the jurors in the trial, saying he has faced "criticism and threats" and doesn't want the same for jurors.

Judge T.S. Ellis cited the "peace and safety" of the jurors and "the integrity of the process" in denying the motion. Ellis, 78, told a packed courtroom that he is now receiving protection from the U.S. Marshals as a result of the threats he's faced.

"I have the Marshals' protection," Ellis said. "I don't even go to the hotel alone."

"I've received criticism and threats," Ellis said, "I'd imagine [jurors] would, too," he added.

So, the FBI has to release the documents that show how they verified the Steele Dossier for use in the FISA Court. If solid documents affirming the claims in the Steele Dossier are there, we'll know it's legit. If not, the entire Russian Investigation will be in jeopardy.

Once again it’s only a motion. And yes when the judge instructs you to avoid the press, not watch or listen to anything involved with the trial you’ve be empaneled to, the judge trumps over freedom of the press. That document from said Media Coalition is well within their rights. That is why the Judical Branch is separate and equal to the Legislative and Executive Branch. No harm done real or alleged.

And in that motion provided by by Media Coalition states case law on why they should be granted access. Doesn’t mean the judge will allow any or all of their motions. Whether that’s fair or not lay blame to the feet of the legislative and executive branch who prefers to dial for dollars rather than fix the broken an antiquated laws on the books.
