What could we do in the midterm? Is it all contingent on immigration policy and therefore unfixable?Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 6:36 amThe cartels literally hire all their employees from the Mexican nationals here. Most of them probably came here trying to get away from the cartels.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:58 amExcept you have maybe 30 million Mexican nationals spread around CONUS from which the cartels can conscript or enlist insurgents and wage the bloodiest terror campaign against us in the history of mankind. There's that little problem.
This shouldn't need to be spelled out and explained to you. They do these things right now to get drugs delivered or murders committed inside the United States.
There's a blog called Border Beat that covers what goes on if you really want to understand the problem. There's no value in being a chicken hawk, especially when in this case your war isn't simply going to send somebody else's sons to some other country but could get you blown up in the KFC drive thru. Not exactly the noble death, but probably appropriate for chicken hawks who started such a conflict.
I told you guys like ten years ago we need to reform immigration so that we know who is here, have a vetting process, etc., and this can't happen. You torched me for being a "racist". Now a lot of you became actual racists and that can't solve the problem. It's too late now anyway. The official estimates have it at just under 11 million Mexican nationals having emigrated to the United States. Most of them are probably decent people, but the risk to us of letting that many people come here from an unstable nation with cartels like that who use kidnappings, torture, and murder to coerce people to do their crimes is enormous. If we went to "war" with cartels, we would see suicide bombers everywhere. Imagine if a cartel had your child and the only way they would let him or her live is if you put on a suicide vest and blow up some food court or something. Imagine that choice. You might say you are so strong you wouldn't do it and your daughter would die. Okay. But what about the next guy? Every Mexican national or naturalized citizen has family over there.

I've thought about that before. Maybe that is the way or an option. And maybe a liberal policy can have some saving grace (finally) for something.Zlaxer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 6:28 amSpeaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 10:23 amThat really doesn't change the equation at all. Read the post you quoted again and try to outline how legalization somehow neutralizes the threat.
Breaks their profit margins - could be cheaper to make dope in the US instead of shipping it across the southern continent.
Legalization didn't work out so well for bootleggers.

Vote in politicians who will change the laws to limit how much control the executive office has over immigration policy.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 6:48 amWhat could we do in the midterm? You are never going to legalize over the counter fentanyl. In that trade, Mexican cartels are only Chinas middlemen. It's revenge for the opium that made so many Americans rich.

China needs to pay for flooding our country with fentanyl. I don’t give a fuck what we or the Brits did over 100 years ago, China needs to be wiped off the map for a lot of reasons. This is just one of them. We need to occupy them like we did Japan. No half measures…..ever!
