So what is the cut off point for being a "true Brit"?
Pre Roman, pre Viking,pre Norman?
British can't just mean Celts or else the only true Brits are the Welsh,Scots and Cornish.
British is a nationality not an ethnic group.

In The Tribes of Britain, archaeologist David Miles says around 80 percent of the genetic characteristics of most white Britons have been passed down from a few thousand Ice Age hunters.

Miles, research fellow at the Institute of Archaeology in Oxford, England, says recent genetic and archaeological evidence puts a new perspective on the history of the British people.

"There's been a lot of arguing over the last ten years, but it's now more or less agreed that about 80 percent of Britons' genes come from hunter-gatherers who came in immediately after the Ice Age," Miles said.

Well, I'm hardly the arbiter of all that is British. Yet it seems there are some timeless British traits, right? Things you're known for throughout the world? Your Monarchy. The Magna Carta. Sherlock Holmes/Victorian England. Stiff upper lip. Sun never sets on the empire. Tea time. Cricket. Fox hunts Etc, etc.

Things not generally known for being British: Eating halal, praying toward Mecca, burkas, celebrating Ramadan, etc, etc.

Am I off here?
