I didn't see where he was doing that. I saw him offering the possibility that it came from the US or western China.
The main point being that it is wrong to blame China for being the origin of the virus if you are doing it just to give our governments a pass for their mishandling of the spread once it arrived on our shores. Especially if there's a chance it actually originated in America.

Remember all the Democrat governors in NY, CA, and WA wailing about how unprepared the Federal government was, and how lives were going to be lost because states couldn't get the supplies they needed?

And then WA sent back 400 ventilators to other states.

And CA sent 500 ventilators back to the national stockpile.

And WA state built, and then broke down, and entire field hospital without ever serving one damn citizen?

Yes . . . all that mismanagement.
But not from Trump.
From the dipshits that scream racism at everything, who demand far more medical supplies than they need, and who spend their time lying on TV and on the internet instead of doing their jobs.

Luckily we're pulling off a flat curve, in spite of the usual leftist bushwhackings against America and its citizens.

21,000 dead Americans and counting goes to show that simply stopping flights from China was never going to be enough. Not that that was really Trump's decision anyway, the airlines stopped flying there before Trump told them to.
We did the same here at around the same time so the bug made its way here via Italy instead.
