Getting back to the topic of this thread,

Recce by death? OK, Ivan, good luck with that I guess.

I mean, CENTCOM commander is Gen. Joe Votel, Mountain, Airborne, Ranger, CIB with Star, his last command was JSOC; fuckin' with the wrong guy, Ivan.

It ain't George Clooney in the White House, pretty sure Joe has the green light to seriously fuck anybody up who makes a hostile move towards US forces, could have told you that Ivan, and saved you the trouble.
Even if this thread has gone long way forward (talking everything else), I'll reply here.

Yep, Russian recon is not to go for some geographical point, but go as far as possible until you hit the enemy. And not care a shit about casualties. This disregard for casualties has been still evident in the modern wars against Georgia and Ukraine. Units get decimated in battle isn't a disaster, it's just war. Hence looking at how the US will respond to attacking it's proxies is that recon.

I agree. The thing is that now I assume the leadership of the military actions in the Middle East is really with the generals... especially when you add Mattis and McMaster as generals to the mix. And the Tweeter-in-Chief's tweets don't mess up the situation, there's no rocket man here. When the opposition is Putin, Trump won't mess up the situation. This is actually one of the good things about the Trump administration, because with a Hillary administration you definately had the political appointees trying to do something terrible and giving the military disasterous and unobtainable objectives. Now it's a show run by the military.

I'll leave the military commentary to you now, ssu, I'm done contributing to this forum, other than NHL hockey talk that is.

Frustrating, ain’t it?

A break did me good.

p.s. Excuse me while I go delete a couple Russian bots that just latched on while I was writing this.

I'm not frustrated, everybody else is frustrated because we lit their threads up, but then they got the moderator to cry "child porn!" to try to end the battle, at which point, rigged game, if you're running a rigged game, only a fool would play.

Don't mind me, I'm just here to keep Capps company and talk some hockey, the rest of it, you can have it, I don't play at a rigged table.

You’ve got the weight to make anything happen you want. Just say it to make it so.

I don't want anything, I'm good, I'll just hang and talk hockey with Capps, I won't get in your way, but I got nothing else to contribute, Kath made up a bald faced lie in order to justify erasing posts because she picked a fight and then it backfired, which, whatever, she's the moderator, but I'm not playing at any table where she is the dealer, simple as that.

I don't even mind rules, I just wont play with a double dealer running the table, I got all the time in the world for you, Marty, but I don't trust your dealer, sorry, but that's just the way it is.

There’s an effect happening in the world. I’d call it “the Trump Effect,” but I think he’s a symptom. The gyrations of everything; politics, Stock Market, global brinksmanship, school shootings, this forum, is going up, down, up, down, bigger & bigger. You equated it to 1920. Like Twain said, history doesn’t repeat itself but it rhymes. And like Beck said, “something’s going to happen, I can feel it.”

I don't see as being a crisis, it's nothing new, Warren G. Trump and the Return to Normalcy, we've been here before, we'll be here again, it's the Hurly Burly between the Two Americas, same as it ever was, that being said, never play at a rigged table, pick your spots, but don't pick cards from a double dealer, just walk away.
