Pretty sure you are, as in absence of King Dollah and associated Empire of Liberty; then you'd really have something to cry about.
True.

But My wealthiest nation the world has ever seen should spend more time benefiting the people in it.

Brittania had a great empire, average joe got to work in a coal mine at age 10. Sounds like the benefits can be spread around a bit more.

Those coals miners made $365 USD a year, inflation adjusted in constant dollars, now the average income in America is $50,000, a 136 fold increase, again, inflation adjusted, so you are in fact the wealthiest imperial citizens in the history of the world, by many orders of magnitude, so your sob story ain't welling me up with tears so far, bet dat.

Well, let's flip it around; how much of a handout from the empire are you expecting, Vic?

What's your number?

How many inflation adjusted constant dollars would Uncle Joe, er I mean Uncle Sam have to hand you, before you ceased your constant whining about it?

Like I said, ain't whining myself. I marched in Caesar's legions and got my grant of land. But I look at my fellow citizens begging for their grain ration and I wonder why Crassus gets to keep all the money.

How may inflation adjusted constant dollars are you asking Uncle Sam to hand these filthy beggars?

You said you aren't complaining, but rather all you have is an ask?

Alright, name the number then.

Hmmm, conspicuously quiet, eh wot?

You'd think that with all the angst about it, you'd have that number right on the tip of your tongue by now, because you're not whining, no, you have an ask to make of the empire, indeed

Let's just pretend for a moment that I am the Princeps et Imperator, here's your big chance, you stand before me on the Palatine Hill in all my splendor, ear bent towards you in anticipation of the ask; which will placate you.

So, what's your number, Pleb? Spit it out.

Jesus man! Are you mad!? If you convince people to back away from consumption we are all screwed!

We have a market sustained by faith in growth. That faith is sustained by expansion of debt financing. Even a whiff of the possibility that is ending and our skittish investor class will start pulling their cash in order to beat the curve!

Don't blame the consumers if you know which side your bread is buttered on brother!

Yep, they have in Greece all those gizmos too.
We used to have a lot of farmers.
Farmers owned lots of land and grew lots of food, man.
Now we don't.
Boo-hoo.

We used to have a lot of manufacturing jobs.
People did brainless bullshit on unionized assembly lines and lived well.
Now we don't.
Boo-hoo.

Today we have technology jobs.
We can be our own boss, cut deals with Chinese factories that used to only be open to global corps, mass market over the internet, innovate apps people pay big bucks for, star in our own internet TV shows, etc, etc, etc.
But people would rather bitch about not living like assembly-line schlubs.
Boo-hoo.

That's the connection.
It's all about lazy people preferring to leverage the power of government to give them what they think their parents had instead of leveraging their current advantages to achieve the lifestyle they want.
Well that's a bit of an oversimplification.

The problem we have now is that overall productivity has shot through the roof but wages have not increased accordingly. Minimum wage is the easiest way to measure.

We are the most productive we have ever been but we don't get paid like we are. The owners of the capital are certainly benefiting however.
Correct.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.
