The war in Yemen that Bush started and Obama continued and enlarged, Trump has continued also:
If left unchecked, Trump’s approach in Yemen risks deepening a famine that puts millions at risk of starving in the short term and stoking a backlash against America in the long term. Already, Trump is allocating resources in ways that do nothing to benefit most Americans. Through policy that serves Saudi princes better than red-state voters, he is making the military-industrial complex great again.
I see no point in the Americans attempting to appease Yemenis of any stripe, it's going to be a terrorist sausage factory anyway you slice it, sending George Clooney & Co over there to prostrate themselves will do nothing for America, that wouldn't buy them shit, Yemen serves two usefull purposes, it centralizes the inevitable whack-a-mole into a manageably sized battle space with a convenient offshore staging option, and it's a pretext to villify the Iranians, two of America's favourite things.
As for the MIC? It's a growth market, air, sea, land and SOF.

Besides, nuke, just remember that the Houthi's don't like Americans.
I don't like them either. It's almost like you're baiting me to take their side when I'm simply a non interventionalist. Anyway, they aren't contributing to the refugee problem as far as I can tell so have fun Camel King.
The Houthis are an Iranian proxy, if you want to do something about the Houthis, you have to apply pressure to Iran. Otherwise, whack-a-mole that bitch until the pips squeak, if you can't expunge them, you can at least take your pound of flesh.
Real world ordinance test range/two way live fire training area; you always need a few of those, just to keep your edge, and again, it's conveniently located.

Houthi's in Yemen showing their feelings towards the US:
And hey, Iranians have already changed their protest signs to Trump from Obama:
Let them reap what they sew. If they can't fend for themselves while trying to do something stupid, like taking on the western world, they, and the people under them unwilling to fight for their own freedoms deserve exactly what is happening.

Oh no. In my view the whole thing is FUBAR.
Yemen is like Angola, a civil war that has gotten worse when one side intervened (then it was Cuba) and made it to be part of a bigger geopolitical struggle. Hence a prolonged civil war with more deaths and destruction.
The Saudi's wouldn't care a shit about Yemeni infighting, but when a Shia minority group took over, it was too much. The fear of an Iranian backed country was too much. Too bad for the Yemenis.
Greek newspaper “Eleftheros Typos” published photos of fighters with weapons standing in front of a wall in the conflict zone with slogans in Greek reading: “From Rojava to Athens, the liberated lands of the struggle. You will spill blood to take them. Solidarity to the occupations”.
