OMOV.
One Man (person) One Vote.
Anything else is discriminatary.
Sorry, but my FB feed tells me that a huge percentage of the population doesn't grasp the simplest of policy issues. It's all about how the policy makes them "feel." It's not based on any sound economic or individual freedom POV.

Should the citizens vote on each line item on the budget? Seriously - full blown democracy where Congress is irrelevant and 300 million people vote on every single bill would suck big time.

National vote should require military service.

I’ve already said my approach would likely be like a vote “cover charge”. I don’t need to take anyone’s vote away, let the lazy, disinterested, incompetent, and ambivalent take their own votes away and see if that makes a difference.
Did you have to pass a constitution test to graduate HS? It was a requirement for me. I could be down for using that as voter criteria, with a minimum of a B. People who can't be bothered to learn the constitution should not be voting, IMO.

I did not. But if I had to pass one to vote, I would.

End result, I’d be a slightly more informed voter - and everyone who can’t be bothered to take a rudimentary and simple test on the Constitution wouldn’t have a hand in steering the democracy.

Is that not a better outcome for all involved, including the non-voters?

Absolutely; I'd also make it a requirement to run for federal office. You can't protect the constitution if you don't know what it says, unless you are Nancy Pelosi, of course.

Question: how many Hillary voters would have voted for her still if they knew there existed a reasonable probability that they would be loaded onto a C-5 and shipped off to fight her wars for her?

Consider that.

That eye rolling right there is exactly why you have no business voting at the federal level. Seventeen years of feckless eyerollers.

maybe it isnt a terrible idea, Ron Paul got more active military campaign donations during 2012 than even the president at the time, if I remember correctly

It isn't even that hard.

Not all folks qualify for military service. Disenfranchising everyone who can’t pass the physical or is too old to enlist seems like a pretty bad idea.
