Went to another local place and I've decided to get the Smith & Wesson M&P

Dude, I don't own a gun to make a point but the day is coming when there won't be a choice so I'm following your journey to ownership.

I’d prefer to own a shotgun, but I haven’t come up with a safe storage option yet.

I already own a shotgun, but I want something I can carry. The M&P model is discreet enough and is well regarded. I'm going to start working in ammunition purchases to my monthly budget. I'm not in an active war zone currently, so I'll be able to get a store of 9mm rounds over time.

Buying a weapon is one of those things I know I should do, but it's one of those things that can get easily pushed aside by other immediate needs, budget-wise. Something is telling me to go ahead and purchase it this month. I feel convicted by it.

Yeah I felt the same last spring. I was part of a big crowd that week, just did my best to blend in, despite being nervous as hell.

Shield is a great gun, good choice! I have a Shield with night sights and the gen 1 M&P compact. They're reliable.

I've gotten into amateur knife making. I don't have a forge or anything, so I purchase blade blanks and build them out with scales and sheaths. I've made hunting/skinning knives, made a sweet kitchen knife for my mom, etc. They make great gifts and they're fun to make.
