I am not. I'm just calling bullshit on this sudden clutching of the flag, as though we were all one tribe, once we consider people outside the national borders. Suddenly, we're all the same in here, and it's Those People that threaten our coherent way of life.

Yes, I've been to Mexico twice, and the Caribbean a number of times. I've seen shanty towns, and been begged by children in the streets. I felt pity for them, and shame that I was so lucky for no reason.

Do you find it unnatural to care for the plight of fellow humans and want to help them?

I love the South. If there were some kind of breakup, I'd much prefer the culture of the central states to the coasts. That said, I don't plan on taking up arms for either side - I'll just be where my family has the best way of life.
