The last time the democrats made a turn that was drastic, they killed a president.

They already tried a coup on this one. I don't think we are going to see the turn you are expecting any time soon.
The last time the Democrats made a turn this drastic was 1972, and Jimmy Carter won the next election in 1976. Then they only lost three elections in a row after Carter out in too far left wilderness, before Clinton came along. Two elections is the usual turnaround time, sometimes three, sometimes one, but the Democrats are clearly too far left in 2020 to win, so looking more like two or three.
Using Clinton as a barometer is not much of a ruler. He started the DNC machine rolling left so far that Jimmy seemed to be a safe bet in today's political climate.

With what has been revealed so far started back with Clinton in office. So I really wouldn't use Clinton as a point of saying what was a ”readjustment” was.

He abused the shit out of the system.
Dude your nuts. Clinton moved the Democrats to the right, not the left. Clinton grabbed the center, that's why he won. Carter, Mondale and Duhkakis were further left than Clinton, which allowed Reagan and HW Bush to take the center, and then HW Bush went too far to the right and pissed off his base while doing so, which lead to Clinton stealing the center from Bush. Then Gore and Kerry went too far left and W Bush took the center, and then the Republicans went too far right with McCain and Romney and that allowed Obama to take the center, then Clinton went too far left and that allowed Trump to take the center.

That brings us up to today. Obvious pattern is obvious. You assuming the Democrats will stay in the wilderness forever is not reflected in the historical record, the longest they've ever been there is 6 straight presidential elections after Buchanan, and that was a clear outlier. As was the New Deal Democrats winning five straight presidential elections after Hoover. Assuming that because they lost one presidential election and seem intent on sabotaging themselves in another is not evidence they will never win again.

Each point you made was gentle variations. Not an extreme like we are seeing today.

Not at all. The Democrats have simply gone Full McGovern again, this part of the cycle 2016-2020 last happened during Vietnam from 1968-1972, your recency bias is causing you to exaggerate the importance of the last thing you are observing, it is not outside the norm, it's just part of the cycle that hasn't happened in 50 years, so you don't remember the last time it happened within living memory, so you think the modern is worse when it's actually more mild.

Trump is Nixon, the Democrats freaked out the same way in the wake of his election as they did with Trump, that's where all this SJW shit was last at it's height, it's not actually new at all, it's the pendulum swinging back again. Eventually the Democrats will swing back to center, and win an election, just as they did when Jimmy Carter came along and temporarily busted them out of rut, before moving too far to left and opening the door for Reagan.

Today is not an extreme variation, there is just more media spotlight to make it seem worse than it is, and that is what you are seeing, the cycle continues, it has not been broken.

No they were worse, they were rioting in the streets, and attacking cops. Antifa ain't shit compared to them, the SJW's of today are merely LARPing that they are the SJW's of the late sixties and early seventies, they are a pale imitation.

Recency bias is a helluva drug.

And why were they doing that? You obviously have some inkling why they were doing that back in the 60's and 70's?

Vietnam and Nixon Derangement Syndrome, Hippies vs Hardhats.
Iraq and Trump Derangement Syndrome, SJWs vs MAGAhats.

Same-same, the cycle has simply come back around. History be mad rhyming bro, try to temper your recency bias a little.

That was part of it, but not the entire issue. The big issue was equality.
