So a few third generation immigrants whose ancestors came here in the bellies of ocean liners to fill the factories want to tell me what is my culture. Okay, bro. Whatever.

My ancestors came here in sailing ships as conquerors and settlers. We already had a culture here, thanks very much.

My ancestors span nearly 3 centuries in their arrivals to America. I have a couple that were here in the 1600s, and the last few came over in the beginning of the 1900s.

Not really. They had to import Irish to do it for them. In a way they killed themselves. When you think of a Yankee now, you probably imagine people who are descended from those immigrants, not the Puritans that founded that nation. They killed themselves to win, really. Southerners and Appalachians are still here in numbers.
