Nobody catches anything right now anyway. Except bait. Holy shit these Mexicans really know how to trash up a beach.

Damn. This kid is using a perfectly good pan fish as bait.

Found a good rebuild write up for the penn reel I bought off Craigslist for 30 dollhairs

This thing is really cool. Good for saltwater and cat fishing. I think the drag washers are shot though so I'm going to try to completely rebuild it. They can last lifetimes.

Nice bait caster.

Made in USA. Looks older than me but I can't tell. Says the style dates back to the 40's

I like the retro look. Keeping this one for salt water and cat fishing. The abu Garcia black max is going to be for lake and river. I still want a light spinner so I can do ultra light tackle

Unfortunately, anything PENN makes that's new and under $250 is made in China. Over $250 is still made in the US though; that was per a Penn employee. Still like their reels though and their customer service is actually pretty good.

My old man had a ton of Penn's of all types in his basement. Those things were tanks. That one you got there is definitely from Penn's glory days; probably easy enough to service yourself, too.

Yeah I saw this model is stocked in Walmart but the one I have says made in USA so I'm assuming based on that and the patina it's fairly old. I think the guy said he had it for 25 years iirc

I wouldn't use something like that for camping tasks. You kind of need a full tang with bolsters. Start chopping wood with that and the blade is eventually going to come out of the handle.

Banton chop chop. Nah I would just used a wedge and the pommel or a log. Axes are for chopping. Besides I don't plan on cutting down any trees in a national park.

Someone redpill me on the Pflueger Skilkast. I can't find any reviews on it but someone is selling one for twenty bucks (I don't need it but I'm physically attracted to old things)
