You can't deny that (on the street level), the left does value empathy and fairness, and oppose human suffering. It's actually far more "Christian" in nature than the Right. However, they've been twisted into a victim culture.

The Right, meanwhile, does value personal freedom and responsibility. However, they've been twisted into some sort of dark caricature of those ideals - espousing the virtue of violence and fate as manifested by economic status. It's a sort of dark fatalism that's ultimately self-defeating.

Well, I can only go by what's in the New Testament, same as anyone. I mean, there might be some lost portions of the Dead Sea scrolls, where Jesus instructs us to 'fuck the poor, they did it to themselves', or 'arrest people for not following my laws'.

Ok, honestly, I think all religions are just as dangerous. But religion isn't the problem here.

If it were a tribe of Hasidic Jews or Buddhists that we'd been bombing the fuck out of for decades, over their oil profits, I'd expect them to be just as pissed off and crazy (as a group) and have the same incidence of terror/maniacs acting against the west.

And honestly, I'm surprised that it isn't much, much worse. The current level of risk is still far below inland shark bite, no matter how hard you guys clutch your pearls. The world is a dangerous place, and this isn't even a factor.

So if we as Americans stopped letting Muslims into this country, but allowed anyone else in, how does this make us worse as a nation? Answer that. We should be judging the Muslim religion at all times. They went from the Towers to soft targets, like a marathon or a concert.
