Re: International sports bar
Oh for fucks sake, there is shit loads of evidence that PEDs cause medical problems. How about you stop insulting me and try to come up with evidence that they don't.

No there isn't, especially in regards to steroids. You can't find me a single death proven to be related to an athlete on steroids, and all the worst side affects come from improper use of the drug, abuse, not proper use monitored by an endocrinologist. You have no proof, you just think you do, because idiots told you drugs were bad, you've bought into the political witch hunt because other idiots have the same opinion and they are in the majority. For a healthy adult men, taking steroids properly, that's not a unhealthy decision, quite the opposite, women and children are different.Montegriffo wrote:Oh for fucks sake, there is shit loads of evidence that PEDs cause medical problems. I'm talking use, not abuse here. The evidence against steroid use with healthy adult men that "shows" major health concerns, that shit is all anecdotal.
Basically the whole reason steroids are even a scheduled substance in the first place is because of a public overreaction to Ben Johnson and then Lyle Alzado. Steroids are banned for political reasons, not health reasons. Joe Biden and company just wanted to score political points, fuck the American Medical Association and there advise to the contrary, what do they know? Lulz.

Re: International sports bar
Not only are you wrong about steroids but not all PEDs are steroids.
However seeing as you want to talk about them and admit they cause health problems when abused, why would you want to risk the health of aspiring young atheletes who without proper medical supervision could easily abuse their use?
Steroids are not even used very often these days because they are so easy to detect.
EPO is more common and has these side effects.

EPO is more common and has these side effects.
Rapid increases in blood pressure when the substance is introduced too quickly
Convulsions
Influenza-like symptoms, bone aches and shivering following injection
Skin reactions, allergy-like swelling at the site of injection
Liver or pancreatic damage
Increased risk of developing liver or lymphatic cancers

Re: International sports bar
I never once advised abusing any PEDs, especially when it comes to kids. What I said was, there is nothing wrong with a healthy adult male taking steriods, and many other PEDs, under proper medical supervision. Banning the drugs does no good when it comes to keeping young athletes from abusing these drugs. I'm all for testing and regulation, outright bans of drugs with minimal risks when taken properly, that's just dumb. Better to get that shit in a pharmacy then on the street anyway, even if they are dumb enough to abuse it.Montegriffo wrote:Not only are you wrong about steroids but not all PEDs are steroids.

You are just talking drivel now. Steroids were banned in sport before Ben Johnson got caught, that's why he was banned when he was found guilty of using them.StCapps wrote: Basically the whole reason steroids are even a scheduled substance in the first place is because of a public overreaction to Ben Johnson and then Lyle Alzado. What political reason is there for banning them other than protecting people from the side effects?
Why is it over reacting to disapprove of cheats using potentially dangerous, banned (in sports) drugs?
Have you used steroids yourself? Is that why you are so desperate to defend them?

Re: International sports bar
Steroids weren't illegal in the US until afterward, 1990 is the year they made that shit a schedule III substance. Joe Biden using Ben Johnson and Lyle Alzado to push his agenda against the wishes of the American Medical Association, because people like you don't like "cheating" in sports. Just because the Olympics banned it pre-Ben Johnson, doesn't mean that America did the same, nope it took their boy losing the 100m before they thought it was a tragedy, it's was all politics, had nothing to do with health, the health angle is all propaganda, because the side banning the substance has little reason to do so otherwise.Montegriffo wrote:You are just talking drivel now. You want to harm yourself in your private life no problem. You want to damage the career of a rival sportsman and the sport itself by cheating then you don't get to keep your medal when you get caught and you deserve to be excluded from the sport.

Re: International sports bar
Nope PEDs should not lead to life ban, you're a faggot. You want to virtue signal about sportmanship and impose draconian punishments to convince yourself you're helping level the playing field when you are doing the opposite, fuck off. PEDs can actually help the less athletically inclined from birth close the gap with the more athletically gifted, but you would rather have it so only the rich and the top athletes can afford the designer drugs that are designed to pass the drug screenings, while the small time guys still can't compete with them because they can't afford the drugs that best evade screening while their competition can. The drugs that give you best Performance Enhancing results aren't the most expensive PEDs, it's the ones that evade screenings that lead to the huge price tag.Montegriffo wrote:You want to harm yourself in your private life no problem. You are making the playing field less level with your anti-PED witch hunt, not more level. That's because your ideas for fixing the issue of PEDs in sports are all based on ignorance of PEDs, it's no wonder you can't come up with effective counter measures to level the playing field, you don't care about actually doing anything about it, you just want to pretend to do something about it. You just want to "do something" no matter how ineffective your proposed strategy is, even if it's just a token measure that exacerbates the issue you are trying to fix, as long as you are too ignorant to know that it isn't working, you don't care, because the token measure makes you feel like you're doing your job, even when you're not.
Lifetime bans for taking PEDs, seriously go fuck yourself, people like you are ruining sports, not the athlete's taking the best supplements.
