Re: Feminism
Witness the double standard. Reverse the sexes and ask if that would get on t.v.

I think most women are not really all that self-aware. It's not that they are incapable. We just raise them that way.
Most women cannot understand the point of your post, Okie. That's the sad truth. They really cannot see the double standard at all.

I have no idea what product they are pushing there, but that is a great ad.

No, Fife. It's not that women lust after a male body. It's that the plot of this commercial involved a maid taking a creeper shot of a man undressed and then spammed it across the Internet.Fife wrote:I have no idea what product they are pushing there, but that is a great ad.

If the roles were reversed, and this was a commercial where the janitor caught an attractive woman locked out her room with nothing but her underwear, and then he snapped a photo to post it on Reddit or whatever, women would come out of the woodwork to criticize the commercial for normalizing rape culture.

Celebrity sports person gets locked out of hotel room in underwear. Sports person doesn't want to be seen in underwear. Hotel employee takes picture of sports person in underwear, and posts it online. Picture of celebrity sports person in underwear taken without consent gets posted online and goes viral.Speaker to Animals wrote:I think most women are not really all that self-aware. If it's a male celebrity, women cheer. If it's a woman, heads roll. Pretty clear.
Broads can go jump in a lake. Fuck off. Get objectified. Got no time for your horseshit.

Well, I was trying to make the same point as you and Okee. Far too subtly I guess. The Swedish Bikini Team depicted voluntary acts. Revenge of the Nerds and Porky's showed unknown / unwanted surveillance, and even back in those days some kind of broadcasting by the creep would not have flown. If the sexes were reversed back then, I doubt that kind of movie or commercial would have sold anything.Speaker to Animals wrote:No, Fife. It's not that women lust after a male body. Maybe if we keep pointing the mirror at them, western women will finally see what they are becoming.
