Re: Fake News
Obama was not responsible for anything happening militarily in Iraq or Afghanistan during his presidency. After all, those were Bush sr. and Bush jr.'s wars.
Oh, and Trump neither achieved or lost anything in Syria... that's Obama's war.
And Trump didn't make any trade deals with Europe. Benjamin Franklin was the first establish trade relations with Europe... can't own it if you inherit it, right?

Re: Fake News
Not one of you would hesitate for a fucking second to push back on the idea that Obama owned conflicts started by previous presidents.
Iraq and Afghanistan had been in full swing for years before Obama showed up. Only a liar would try to pretend like those were his wars. And only a liar would try to pretend like Yemen was Trump's war.
Looks like we found ourselves a trio of liars.
And you know what we do when we come across liars?
We stop listening to them.
Thanks for playing, liars.
If you haven't picked up on it yet, I hold liars in high regard.

Re: Fake News
Is Obama the commander in chief or is he not? Does the US currently have forces in Yemen or not?
Then it is his war in Yemen. Does not matter "who started it", child. He is in charge, he owns it. Ownership is not about "who started it".

Re: Fake News
If he isn’t the president of the US, which US president currently has troops in Yemen? Go on, you can do this, Okee...Okeefenokee wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 1:31 am

And you're right. Just like Britain isn't your country, yet you join the chorus of criticm of it in the Europe thread all the same.

Yemen: The Graveyard of the Obama Doctrine
But a year and a half into the kingdom’s relentless war in Yemen, opponents of the new sale see it as an outright affirmation of Washington’s involvement in a deadly, strategically incoherent war that the White House has kept largely quiet about. What’s more, it is at odds with Obama’s apparent distaste for regional proxy wars.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has targeted Yemen’s Shia Houthi militias and their allies, loyalists of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who two years ago seized the Yemeni capital Sanaa by force. Several months later, they drove the Saudi-backed President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi into exile. When Saudi King Salman announced the intervention in Yemen—an intervention the kingdom has painted as a proxy war with Iran, its regional foe—the White House immediately authorized a support package that included intelligence-sharing and logistical support for military operations. That package has seen the United States deliver more than 40 million pounds of fuel to Saudi jets over the past 18 months, according to U.S. Central Command. The Saudis would be crippled without direct U.S. military assistance, particularly aerial refueling, which continues unabated.

Re: Fake News
Not one iota of legitimacy is to be given these liars.
They have no honor.
They get no respect.
They lie, and there is nothing worse that a man can do than sacrifice his integrity for a lie.

Re: Fake News
It really is frightening how utterly stupid you can be, Okee. Makes me wish your commanding officers only let you handle a BB gun, and (easily) convinced you it was the real thing.
And since I can imagine that, it is now the truth. Any comments to the contrary are obviously lies.

Re: Fake News
FWIW, the Yemen War is Brennan's War
JOHN BRENNAN ON
U.S. POLICY TOWARD YEMEN
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2010
WASHINGTON, D.C
For the last two years, John Brennan has served as the top counterterrorism official in the White
House. The New York Times said of him, “if it” – meaning the war, the counterterrorism war – “is now
Obama’s war, Brennan is his general.”
So let me say this, even if there are no threats to our security emanating from Yemen, the
circumstances that I have described so far would be more than worthy of American attention. Yemen
matters, the people of Yemen matter. And as President Obama has made clear, our common humanity
connects us to those Yemenis who are struggling to make ends meet and to live in freedom and dignity.
In this sense, our Yemen policy reflects the president’s clear-eyed understanding of the dual
challenges before us in our work to protect the American people and our partners. On one hand, there is
the near-term challenge of destroying al-Qaida and its extremist affiliates. And let me assure everyone in
this room: We will destroy al-Qaida.
But there is a larger and long-term challenge of confronting the political, economic and social forces
that can sometimes drive individuals down the path toward militancy. This, in turn, involves offering an
alternative that affords people the political space, economic opportunity and social inclusion that make
countries like Yemen less vulnerable to terrorist networks.
