I'd say .410-00 packs plenty of punch, but I don't buy that it gives you a better chance of dropping a man at CQ than .38 spec/.357 mag

At that range, if you're gonna miss, you're gonna miss either way, if you're gonna hit, you're gonna hit either way, and if you're gonna wing em, better to wing em with the full measure rather than just a pellet.

The principle utility of the Judge would be that it allows you to have multiple types of loads, so you could have a less lethal opener, followed by buck, then slug, same as the full sized pump.
