The trick would have been to do as the ARVN did.

Just wait until they mass to attack the cities.

Then you bring your firepower to bear.

At An Loc the Air Force said "this is the war we came here to fight".

In between the offensives; just wait them out.

Don't worry about the VC.

They can't take the cities.

So don't chase them.

No Search & Destroy.

No booby traps.
