This is how movements are neutralized. Co-opting terms until they have no meaning.

BroGrump, you see the Stockmarket as over valued, logically you understand it can't be sustained and its going to collapse, right ?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 4:22 pmBack in reality, I don’t see how this is a good thing, in present system. That's the way I see the education system. College Degrees are overvalued because they have been Subsidized by the Federal Government for 40 years. It turned Universities into corporations who feed on getting more an more customers to buy their product simply on the idea that everyone else is buying this product and you have to buy this product too. They say it doesn't matter which of our product line you buy, but you have to buy it to secure future success.
College costs have gotten so high, it's putting people in debt for life, just for an education and no guarantee of return. It's a better to get a trade job and invest college money in other ways than go to college.

I’m just saying that the CFPB represents one possible safety valve that could help to relieve the pressure, and it’s been shut off.
That’s why I said it doesn’t help in present state to do this, unless you’re hoping it all just collapses sooner.

I want to see the CFPB dismantled because its potential of abuse of citizens is far greater than its potential to help citizens. That thing was designed to be an uncountable political mechanism.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 9:57 am

You really don't want agencies that are not accountable to Congress do you? Because that's my main bitch with them.

I’m not so sure - at least not in all cases. Congress turned NASA into a fucking dumpster fire.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 10:08 amI want to see the CFPB dismantled because its potential of abuse of citizens is far greater than its potential to help citizens. NASA became a dumpster fire because of Proxmire and the subsequent take over by planetary scientists. The glory days were when it was run by engineers.
It's difficult to maintain a real space program with democrats in power, which is why we have a second space program run by the DOD and corporate contractors.

You're undecided about having an agency with the power to punish citizens without oversite ?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:08 pm

If by “citizens”, you mean megacorps, I’m not feeling a great conflict. They’ve certainly got it coming.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:40 pmYou're undecided about having an agency with the power to punish citizens without oversite ?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:08 pm

Violence is always the answer -- so long as someone else is doing the head bashing.
