The best fighters in the world are MMA fighters. Just because they can't beat a boxer at boxing doesn't mean that boxers can just come into MMA and takeover because they are the best fighters, that ain't how it works. The Pro Boxers who come in usually get killed, Ray Mercer being the obvious outlier of course.

MMA encorporates the most other martial arts than any other martial art, so yes, it is overall. If the other martial artists in other sports were greater overall, they could come into MMA and dominate, and sometimes they do, wrestlers in particular are known for this, but they often can't if their game is too one-dimensional or their wrestling game doesn't transfer well to MMA.

Yeah and it was successful. Because BJJ was the best sole base with no other real fighting skills, but once the mixing and matching began, that was no longer the case. You don't know what you are talking about, the rules have changed, they no longer favor BJJ fighters, there are rounds and not unlimited time limits, judges decisions exist now, and the refs can stand the fight up due to inaction.

As usual you learned a tiny tidbit about something you know nothing about and are trying to front like that makes you an expert. Trying to act like you know more about MMA than me is priceless, you have no sense of context about MMA fighting whatsoever. You don't even watch it, and are extremely prone to misinterpreting the few tidbits about it that you actually know.

Watching the best fighters in the world fight top competition, as often as I do, does make me an expert, especially compared to the likes of you, who doesn't even do that. Also my betting track record can attest to my expertise, I get my accounts restricted on gambling sites, because I am so good at reading fights as they unfold while using that knowledge to take their money. The argument is not specious, you assume any one martial art is good enough by itself, but it isn't. You are the specious one here.

MMA fighters do not have Capoeira base, they don't focus on it like they do boxing, wrestling or jiu-jitsu. Even in the stand up game, they practice Capoeira less than Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, etc.

So MMA fighters don't disagree with me, they disagree with you. Anderson Silva is not a Capoeira guy, that element of his game is a complimentary feature, not his main skill set. The best part of Silva's game was his counter punching in particular, and his ground and pound, which was super underrated because he never had the wrestling to end up there and only dove in after he hurt someone on the feet or they fell down like Chael doing an ill timed Capoeira move.
