I want to remind everyone that Manafort & Padadopoulos are in jail but Orr & Paige are still working for the federal government.

Before an election?! Where 2 of the Republicans can lose on this issue alone?C-Mag wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 11:38 amI understand that too, but if McConnell keeps the Senate in session they can still confirm him in October.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 11:02 amI read that if Kavanaugh is not confirmed by Friday, his nomination fails. She doesn’t testify until Thursday. There’s a lot of things that can be done to eat up another day: riots, demonstrations, suicides, no quorum, etc. for 1 day.

They are not doing to do that. Senators gotta go home and campaign.C-Mag wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 11:38 amI understand that too, but if McConnell keeps the Senate in session they can still confirm him in October.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 11:02 amI read that if Kavanaugh is not confirmed by Friday, his nomination fails. After considering this, it doesn’t make sense, and when something doesn’t make sense, it’s nonsense. The only motive that makes sense here is the anti-abortionists want another candidate, so they’re hiding behind the Dems on Kavanaugh. If this nomination is let go, that’s the reason.

I wonder if anyone will tell Trump what happened to him? He’s pretty much alone out there.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
The real question is, if they succeed in getting him squashed how will it affect the mid-term elections? If the public plainly see it as an obstruction tactic will it work in Dems favor of against them? Obviously there's the hardcore Dems that'll love it, but...?clubgop wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 11:43 amThey are not doing to do that. A botched Supreme Court confirmation isn’t going to sway any more voters than general Dem perfidity. In fact, it might energize Dems.

Interesting point: consider how easy it was to take down Cain with this tactic. This time it's fucking imploding fast.
