Re: DCF Refugee Internment Camp
I don't think it's ridiculous to believe we had immunity to diseases spread from animals which didn't exist in the Americas while the locals didn't. I've never really understood why you are so resistant to the idea.TB comes from cattle which the Americans never had, same with small pox. I'm not sure why you are bringing lefty politics into it.
What if the diseases were brought by the Norsemen or the first explorers from the 15th century? There was a big enough gap between the first real settlers and the first explorers that the deaths could have happened without being witnessed.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Why are you accusing me of apportioning blame? I don't think Europeans even understood the diseases they brought never mind used them deliberately.

I'm beginning to get quite irate,
'cos the fascism's starting to grate.
the commandant Schmitty
is being real shitty
and the right has gone back to it's hate
the word Marxist is bandied about
SJW view they all shout
the gay bashing is clear
Islam haters are here
liberal thinkers are filled with new doubt
I'm now cursed with a new sense of dread
as It's starting to mess with my head
maybe Dan was quite right
'cos it's not worth the fight
and the DCF's better off dead.

In smaller numbers than those without immunity, in Europe it wasn't an extinction event like it may well have been in the Americas.Okeefenokee wrote:But white europeans aren't immune to the diseases that are common in europe. mothafuckin whiteys still die from tuberculosis, yo.Montegriffo wrote:I don't think it's ridiculous to believe we had immunity to diseases spread from animals which didn't exist in the Americas while the locals didn't. but there aren't any medical records to say what it was that killed those in the America's. We're just making guesses based on records from people who likely barely understood bacterial or viral contagions, if they understood them at all.Montegriffo wrote:In smaller numbers than those without immunity, in Europe it wasn't an extinction event like it may well have been in the Americas.Okeefenokee wrote:But white europeans aren't immune to the diseases that are common in europe. mothafuckin whiteys still die from tuberculosis, yo.Montegriffo wrote:I don't think it's ridiculous to believe we had immunity to diseases spread from animals which didn't exist in the Americas while the locals didn't. Smitty is a take-no-prisoners debater, and he's good. If he senses a crack in your armor, he's going to stick the sword in and turn. Half the time he doesn't even subscribe to his own debating positions, he just smells victory.Montegriffo wrote: the commandant Schmitty

p.s. It's all about debate as entertainment. If a thread is getting under your skin, quit reading it.

Loves me some The Bounty, loves me some Master and Commander, The Bounty is better in terms of being an historical documentation, but Jack Aubrey is still a bad mamma jamma none the less.Okeefenokee wrote:Is that better or worse than Master and Commander?
