Trump and Giuliani threaten Cohen’s family? Thoughts?

"No plausible interest" is a pretty broad claim. Cohen might think he can get a better deal by playing coy. Hell, he could just be such a habitual slick-backed pain in the ass, that he doesn't know how to stop himself. Who knows.

But, here is what you have to believe if you think he is either being threatened, or even genuinely believes he is being threatened:

You have to believe that Trump has the criminal infrastructure and will to back up a witness intimidation threat, that Cohen knows about this infrastructure but isn't spilling on that (even though he is willing to accuse them of witness tampering); and that Trump and his lawyer buddy think that the best way to get this message to the witness is on national news and twitter. If they had that sort of reach, you would think they could get the message to Cohen personally in a way that didn't leave a shit trail right back to their porches.

I can believe all that. Trump has many ties to the mob, hell Cohen is one of them. But he doesn't have to be threatening physical harm to Cohen's family, he's more likely saying "If you testify against me, I'll get your family in trouble." The president is not someone you want on your bad side, as Cohen has said in interviews.

As for getting the message out on twitter, this is Trump, it is not beneath him, and I think he's arrogant enough and he knows enough about toeing the line to make a tweet do double duty, by mentioning publicly that Cohen's wife and father an law are dirty he is smearing Cohen, but to Cohen he's also reminding him he has the dirt on them and could expose them in retaliation. He didn't say,
"Cohen's a shady criminal, look at the father in law!" No, he said,

"Now watch the father in law!"

Basically, "See what happens to the father in law."

I mean what's the real difference anyway? We've collectively assumed all our politicians and especially presidents as of late are criminals. Why does Trump get this kind of reaction from the system and their NPC drones? I was somewhat politically aware back in the halcyon days of W and king nigger. I don't remember there being any reaction like this. Was I just not paying attention? Clue me in here. This whole thing seems unprecedented to me.
