It's not like PBS hasn't done a hundred shows about archaeological digs at biblical sites.

He can't even process the point. He just equates anything relating to the texts in the Bible with "lies", so if a hypothesis about a historical event derives from those texts, then he assumes that means it's automatically false.

Aside from the obvious logical fallacy, he is disproved time and time again when people make archaeological discoveries based on hypotheses derived from ancient texts.

Oh, and he is a fucking raging cunt that ruins this forum with nonsense.

For sure. I watched a few of them.

My favorite was the Naked Archaeologist explaining the Egyptian plagues as effects from a nearby volcano.

Valid.

But I don't think he tried to reinvent the origin of Hellenic Greece with it.
I guess you don't know how the bronze age, the Iliad, and Troy all tie in together.

Hint, it actually did change our understanding of Greek history.

 You believe whatever you please, dude. We can fight about religion on the Religion thread.

But you brought that weak shit into a Historical thread. Post a real source, or admit that you have no fucking idea how the bronze age Sea Peoples relate to Hebrews.

Okay, bye.

You were never part of this discussion other than throwing beer and peanuts all over the place, so I am not sure what you think you are exiting since you have no idea what we are discussing to begin with, but whatever.

Didn't even know who the Hyksos were and that some historians connect them to the Hebrews, but you decided to tap out. Probably for the best.

You realize priests from various religions around the world have catalogued the bulk of the worlds history right.

Sadly true, prior to the Renaissance. Imagine how much historical knowledge was lost or manipulated to suit their various dogmas... :(

An entire article on the Hyksos and Hebrews. Raising possibilities and doubts. Princeton U.
http://www.bibleinterp.com/articles/201 ... 8005.shtml

A Purdue U. page on the 'sea peoples'
Aqaiwasha sounds like Ahhijawa, or Achaeans, that is, the tribe ruled by Agamemnon of Mycenae

Peleset (Pulisati) sounds like the Philistines who settled on south coast of Canaan (giving their name to the region, Palestine). The Philistines later became the inveterate foes of the Hebrews. They used iron weapons and prohibited the Hebrews from manufacturing metal tools and weaponry.

Lukka people = the ancient Lycians, who dwelled along the south coast of Anatolia, and were notorious during the late Bronze Age as pirates.

Tursha people possibly were identical with the Tyrsenoi, the Greek word for the Etruscans, who were the inhabitants of northwest Italy in the early Iron Age

Sheklesh people sounds like Sikeloi, the natives of Sicily encountered by Phoenicians and Greeks.

Sherden sounds like Sardinoi, the natives of Sardinia. In both instances warrior elites dominated the islands using Bronze Age technology.
