Re: Stop apologizing for not being a liberal
I think economic policies are a huge divider between political ideologies. It’s the primary separator between a capitalist, a socialist, and a communist party. Pretty significant difference. Socially you have libertarians accepting the KKK, the right to refuse service based on race/gender/religion/anything - try running that past a liberal.
Consider the views of liberals and libertarians on the subject of “the role of government”. Another considerable ideological chasm. Taxation? Polar opposites. So on and so forth. Sure, there is some overlap in some areas, but again, that’s true of all the major political ideologies.
It’s the differences that define the ideology as unique, not the shared views.

Status Quo Ante... meaning the "good ol' days".... pre-enlightenment...Reactionary
A reactionary is a person who holds political views that favor a return to the status quo ante, the previous political state of society, which they believe possessed characteristics (discipline, respect for authority, etc.) that are negatively absent from the contemporary status quo of a society. As an adjective, the word reactionary describes points of view and policies meant to restore the status quo ante.[1]
Political reactionaries are largely found on the right-wing of a political spectrum, though left-wing reactionaries can also exist.[2] Reactionary ideologies can also be radical, in the sense of political extremism, in service to re-establishing the status quo ante. In political discourse, being a reactionary is generally regarded as negative; the descriptor "political reactionary" has been adopted by the likes of the Austrian monarchist Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn,[3] the Scottish journalist Gerald Warner of Craigenmaddie,[4] the Colombian political theologian Nicolás Gómez Dávila, and the American historian John Lukacs.[5]

Pretty much the entire characterization of a diverse group of people who are simply skeptical of the Enlightenment.

I thought it was a reasonable definition...
It could apply to pre- industrial revolution, pre-Enlightenment, pre-bronze age, pre anything really...

Maybe we could coin it the anti-Enlightenment movement?
