I'd actually be more into a real hockey trade, the rental market is shit, there's nothing out there worth renting, but, once the GM's start wheeling and dealing, that's where you can bait and switch, "no, we don't want Tomas Tatar or Gustav Nyquist, but have you thought about moving Glendening? If you're moving Tatar and Nyquist, you're gonna be down some wingers, and we got a couple who are NHL ready down in the A, and you know, Danny Dekeyser could use a change of scenery, if you're willing to retain salary on that contract, we might be willing to make it worth your while. . ."

That sounds great in theory, but how many genuine hockey trades do we usually get at the trade deadline across the entire NHL? Not many, if any at all, the trade deadline almost never lives up to hype.Smitty-48 wrote:I'd actually be more into a real hockey trade, the rental market is shit, there's nothing out there worth renting, but, once the GM's start wheeling and dealing, that's where you can bait and switch, "no, we don't want Tomas Tatar or Gustav Nyquist, but have you thought about moving Glendening? Andreas Johnsson, Calle Rosen, and Garret Sparks, for Luke Glendening, Danny Deykeyser and Darren Helm, 25% salary retained on Deykeyser, 50% salary retained on Helm, kass me outside, how bout dat?

Chances of that actually happening though, not very high, just saying. Genuine hockey trades at the deadline are quite rare, as much as I'd love to see more of them this year, not really seeing it. Genuine hockey trades tend to go down in the summer.Smitty-48 wrote:Andreas Johnsson, Calle Rosen, and Garret Sparks, for Luke Glendening, Danny Deykeyser and Darren Helm, 25% salary retained on Deykeyser, %50 salary retained on Helm, kass me outside, how bout dat?

You're gonna be getting an NHL team in Seattle in 2020, is that the kind of thing you could get behind or you don't give a shit about anybody but the Seahawks?DBTrek wrote:Awww shit, guys.

Never caught the hockey bug.
I’ve seen the Stanley Cup in person by random accident, twice, but never met any hockey fans that got me into the game.

Hey Smits, getting all tuned in for the Flamers. They don't have their boy between the pipes tonight. Should be good stuff.
