My daughter volunteers at the food bank at the big church in the town at her school a couple of afternoons each week. They need plenty of help, and I'm sure they would provide some hot meals for former government ticks down on their luck and looking for honest work who want to help out while they are in their job search.

That's actually how our military works. I was there during the draw down In the 90s. When they didn't need you anymore you just get a letter. You have 30 days to get shit in order and be off the base. See ya.

Mirrors my experience with five years of contracting for a Federal agency. About 80% of the employees could be fired without any appreciable impact to core government operations. The government-nepotism-gravy-train is seriously out of control.

Remember, on Friday congress resolved that all these government motherfuckers will get back pay FOR NOT WORKING.
The contractors, and those in the private sector dealing with the government, won't.

So government workers are bitching about three weeks of paid vacation at this point, while the media has spilled nary a drop of ink for the private sector labor that will be receiving NOTHING for the same three weeks of non-work.
