Re: Venezuela news
They need to overthrow the Marxist government first, or at least get the war started. Then we should help them.

Re: Venezuela news
So things are getting really bad:
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-venez ... SKBN1811X3A 20-year-old Venezuelan protester died on Friday after being shot in the head, authorities said, taking fatalities from a month of anti-government unrest to at least 37 as the opposition geared up for more demonstrations.
Hecder Lugo was hurt during fighting between demonstrators and security forces in Valencia on Thursday that also injured four others, the local opposition Mayor Enzo Scarano said in a series of tweets.
The state prosecutor's office, which keeps an official count of deaths since protests began against socialist President Nicolas Maduro in early April, confirmed he died after being shot in a protest.
Another 717 people have been injured and 152 are still in jail from the hundreds rounded up in widespread unrest around the volatile South American OPEC nation of 30 million people, according to the office's latest tally.
There has been violence and widespread looting this week in Valencia, a once-bustling industrial hub two hours from the capital by road.
And in an incident loaded with symbolism, a handful of young men destroyed a statue of late leader Hugo Chavez in the oil-producing Zulia state, according to videos circulating on social media on Friday evening.
Footage shows the statue, which depicts Chavez saluting and wearing a sash, being yanked down to cheers in a public plaza before it is bashed into a sidewalk and then the road as onlookers swear at the leftist, who died in 2013 from cancer
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/vene ... rs-n754891A video from Venezuela that has gone viral shows a David and Goliath-like clash between protesters and the police in the Caracas neighborhood of Altamira.
A group of young people chase riot police with sticks and stones; authorities then fire on the crowd with tear gas as an armored vehicle pushes back protesters and rolls over people in the crowd. The tank is then engulfed in flames.
NBC News has confirmed that at least one person got stuck underneath the vehicle and is severely injured.

The other thing, is that the Arabs have proven they will burn whatever house you build them to the ground - the South Americans tend to run with what they are given (Chilli and Columbia come to mind, and Brazil and Argentina seemed to have turned the corner).......
There's no reason other than failed Marxism as to why Venezuela has failed.....i don't like seing their people have to go through this - why hasn't the military overthrown him yet?

Ooh goody! Another proxy war! Neocons are wetting themselves, and looking for a "moderate rebel group" to arm.

You seriously think that I'm a Neocon for proposing involvement in Venezuela? A country we used to be friendly with until the Marxists took over...A country in our own hemisphere in which the people are people oppressed by a failed Marxist regime?
You don't see any difference here vs the ME?
Wait - shit, they have oil - that means the only reasons I want to help them is to liberate their oil - hence I'm a Neocon.......wait wait.....I get it - anyone who points out the failing of the socialists/Marxists utopia is a Neocon to GCF.
I'm the last one on here to ever propose getting involved in foreign wars - but it's our own backyard this time.....and the people aren't durka-durks hell bent on wiping out the Great Satan....

What do you propose doing about it?

Perhaps it's time to start shipping / air dropping in food - these people aren't North Koreans - they will know where the packages are coming from - the central government is literally starving the people. The US should use soft power to persuade Venezuelan Military leaders that it's time for the deposit to go...confiscation of humanitarian supplies from starving civilians by Maduro may be the crack in the dam that causes it to fail...I don't want to sent in an occupying force, convincing Venezuelan generals is likely the key here.
