IMHO, Trump has the upper hand. I have little doubt he was being spied on, however Trump should act quickly and show some FISA docs. If he can't do that, and show some docs, it's going to feed the establishment frenzy to get rid of him

My worst case prediction from all of this is one of two scenarios.

1) Obama Indictment
2) Trump impeachment

Both are in play right now per source.

Who do you think is going to impeach him?

House and then the Senate, like every other impeachment. I'm not saying it's probable, it would take some turnover in 2018 or the right falling apart from within.

it’s clear only one is at the root of Trump’s claim: a November 2016 blog post based on anonymous sources that has not been corroborated by independent U.S. journalists.

Trump's spokeswoman made it sound as if Trump was merely following a well-documented string of reports, but that is not the case. A few of the reports allude to the White House requesting permission from FISA to eavesdrop on Trump’s administration, but none (minus the anonymously sourced website) definitively said the probes centered on Trump himself or came directly from Obama.

And basically, WTF else is here than Trump being angry about the Sessions recuse and the whole Sessions thing then tweeting a story?

Aides say Mr. Trump went into Friday in a foul mood. He had not known ahead of time that Mr. Sessions planned to recuse himself and never thought he should, even after Mr. Sessions acknowledged that he had talked to Mr. Kislyak despite suggesting otherwise in his Senate confirmation hearing.

Mr. Trump told some advisers that he thought Mr. Sessions had fumbled his answer at that hearing. But on Friday morning in an angry session in the Oval Office, the president railed at aides about the recusal, singling out the White House counsel’s office and the communications staff in a tirade visible through the window to a nearby television camera.

Still upset after arriving at Mar-a-Lago, his estate in Palm Beach, Fla., Mr. Trump woke up Saturday morning and began posting on Twitter at 6:26 a.m. In a burst of six messages, he tried to turn the tables by noting that members of the Obama administration also met with Russia’s ambassador. Without citing a source, he asserted that Mr. Obama had tapped his phones, and compared it to Watergate. “Bad (or sick) guy,” the president wrote.

While the political world erupted over the allegation, Mr. Trump was adamant in conversations throughout the day that he was on to something. His chief strategist, Mr. Bannon, the former Breitbart chairman, flew down to Florida with Donald F. McGahn II, the White House counsel, on Saturday.

Late Saturday morning, Mr. Trump’s aides spoke about how to get him to stop posting on Twitter, to avoid opening himself up to further problems. He golfed a little, then returned to the club and began working the phones. At dinner, he roamed the patio, telling a friend, Chris Ruddy, the chief executive of Newsmax Media, that his claims about Mr. Obama would prove true. By Sunday, advisers said, he was fuming that more people were not defending him.

Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.

Mr. Comey, who made the request on Saturday after Mr. Trump leveled his allegation on Twitter, has been working to get the Justice Department to knock down the claim because it falsely insinuates that the F.B.I. broke the law, the officials said.

Chuck the Schmuck, or as he's unaffectionately known around here, Chuck e Cheese Schumer, likes to appear on the Sunday morning shows, but Trump pre-empted him with his early Saturday morning tweets. I think it's fair to say that the media may feel inclined to fall back to a previously unprepared position in the rear. Trumpzilla's petulant, clownish, childish tweets could possibly be but the first roiling of an earthquake. Folk have done nothing but underestimate him. It's going to be an interesting week in the news. Some of these talking heads might have actual coffee in their cups later this morning--though I expect Dan's sticking with Scotch.
I wish he could still be here to see all of this.

Chuck You Schumer said Trumps in trouble if this is not true, but Trumps really in a lot of trouble if it is true.
What I think the Schmuck is getting to is that the President cannot publically comment on anything learned from intelligence briefings. So if the President brought this out because of what he learned in a briefing, Trump would be legally in trouble. Now, what ssu so well pointed out, that Trump based this on blog posts of media reports. Seems to make Trump an idiot. But added together with what Schumer is talking about makes Trump brilliant. He's commented on news reports, which he is allowed to do. You'll notice he sent this Saturday morning in Florida, a day he has no intel briefing and said he JUST learned. The man has insolated himself.

So Comey asked the DOJ to deny the request for investigation. But when asked neither Comey, nor the DOJ denied there were wire taps. I agree ssu, the DOJ and FBI have a real vested interest in not seeing an investigation. But this is a conversation we need to have in this country about EVERYONES information being captured by our government.

I agree, Perception is Reality. There is perception that the 4th Amendment exists, therefore it is considered reality.

Makes, not is. I have a hard time with is... as do most people these days, but makes is ever shifting sand.

Leaving that aside, it would be nice to have more information than a blog and Russian Government Radio, which I have a hard time believing is more biased towards truth than other sources.
