You are on a dangerous path.
Equality of opportunity is critical.
But equality of outcome is extremely dangerous.
When you work out, for example, or learn a new subject, you are intentionally increasing inequality -- every effort to improve and strive is an intentional effort to rise above mediocrity. This is normal and good. (H/T Jordan Petersen)
I am very concerned with equality of opportunity, but humans are ridiculously unequal, and focusing of equality of outcome is quite frankly destruction, anti-progress and retarded.

sarcasm?
How many people tuned in to be entertained by that fight?
Or were the pay-per-viewers forced to pay for it at gunpoint?

The Mayweather - Paccy fight related to that 100 mil check:
So he made 25 cents on each dollar grossed DOMESTICALLY as the biggest star in an international sport.
Get in touch when one of you gets 4.4 million international viewers to fork over some loot to watch you do anything.
Edit:
http://deadline.com/2015/05/mayweather- ... 201425241/With 4.4 million PPV buys and over $410 million in domestic PPV revenue, the 12-round fight has knocked out all competitors to be the most watched and highest grossing pay-per-view event ever

Edit:
Ummmm I can make a convincing case FM was underpaid.Overall HBO and Showtime’s joint presentation of the welterweight world championship unification fight earlier this month is estimated to eventually pull in more that $500 million in revenue from PPV, the gate, licensing and merchandising globally.

The Board of Compensation Justification will review this to determine if he deserves it.

I agree. Equality of outcome cannot be mandated, and shouldn't be.apeman wrote:You are on a dangerous path.

But fuck, I have almost no opportunity to raise my station, and never will unless I inherit a large sum of money. That's just not acceptable, not in keeping with the American Dream, and not 'fair'.
All of this is related to our PM conversation, btw. I'm fucking hot about that.

GCF you posted your take-home pay once, you are rich, compared to the rest of the world and compared to historical wealth held by proles like us.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I agree. Equality of outcome cannot be mandated, and shouldn't be.

You really are doing great, no chance of starvation, 6' 2'' and well-built, no chance of dying in a field defending the king from barbarians, etc.
You and I are two of the luckiest people to ever live -- what would you estimate? Top 1% most lucky?
(What is PM convo? Is that the real estate Q?)

Yeah, the real estate thing. I can't upgrade our house without taking on massive debt, and I can't buy the fixer without massive wealth on-hand. It's extremely frustrating.apeman wrote:GCF you posted your take-home pay once, you are rich, compared to the rest of the world and compared to historical wealth held by proles like us.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I agree. I'm not blind to the world, I am most definitely in the top 1% globally. However, despite that, I am very aware that most of my 'wealth' is being ripped out of my pocket by corrupt fuckers that control my life, and it's maddening. I have a nice pile of bananas, but every so often, a gang of smaller monkeys takes some of them and slaps me in the face. And I'm not allowed to plant my own banana tree, or do anything about the squad of leech-monkeys. Big monkey is getting pissed.
